"Alexandra Myhren er uten tvil en instruktør med utrolig mange positive sider!
For det første engasjerer hun seg sterkt i hver eneste elev, uansett om eleven skal lære seg å stille hesten eller er på nivå til å ri halve steg.
Hun har også en utrolig evne til å tilpasse seg hver enkelt rytters temperament og tenkemåte! Til de som trenger og tåler det kan hun bli streng og kreve mye, men er eleven litt usikker er hun så rosende og oppmuntrende som bare det, samtidig som eleven naturligvis lærer mye nytt og føler seg sikrere etter hvert.
Hun jobber etter en positiv treningsfilosofi, der oppmuntring og det å gjøre ting som både hest og rytter mestrer er vesentlig. Samtidig arbeider man hele tiden med å komme et skritt videre ved at man får stadig nye utfordringer.
Alexandra har definitivt øye for detaljer når hun underviser og ”ser alt”, men hun balanserer dette og forvirrer ikke usikre ryttere ved å kommentere for mange ting på en gang.
Hun er opptatt av hele hesteholdet i sammenheng med ridningen, at hesten skal ha et godt liv, samt at hun har tilegnet seg en del kunnskap om anatomi og hestenes fysiske forutsetninger for å gjøre det vi ber dem om.
Hun behandler alle hester med respekt og kan beundre en sta kaldblods like mye som ”en stor brun.”
En annen fordel med Alexandra som instruktør er at hun er ydmyk og opptatt av å utvikle seg selv som rytter. I tillegg til sin allerede lange erfaring drar hun stadig på kurs med dyktige ryttere i verdensklasse, og hun har dermed alltid noe nytt og inspirerende å komme med når hun selv underviser.
Alt i alt er hun en morsom, inspirerende og svært dyktig instruktør. Jeg får med meg mye nytt hver gang jeg rir for henne!"

"I am writing this recommendation for my teacher, cooperative partner and friend, Alexandra Myhren. I myself educated as a veterinarian from The Faculty of Life Sciences, Copenhagen, Denmark in 2008. In summer 2006 I was a trainee at Bent Branderup’s together with Alexandra, and these few months opened up my interest to the horse’s biomechanics as well as founded a solid friendship with this spirited girl.
Alexandra was my riding teacher winter/spring and summer 2006 and taught me and my young lipizzan gelding the basics of academic/baroque equitation. In summer 2007 Alexandra arranged a successful week clinic in Norway with me and Julia Thut as co trainers. The main subject of the clinic was that the riders got a deeper knowledge about the biomechanics of the horse so that they develop a greater understanding of the horse in motion. As a veterinarian I taught the part about biomechanics, Julia Thut taught a part about horse psychology and free dressage and Alexandra Myhren had the riding theory and gave the riding lessons. Summer 2008 Alexandra arranged another successful week clinic, together with me and Physiotherapist Johanne Haltebakk as assistant trainers. During the week long clinic we had theory and practical demonstration about the biomechanics of horse and rider in motion and the new knowledge was combined in riding lessons by Alexandra Myhren.
During the years I’ve known Alexandra, we have had countless discussions on horse’s training and their biomechanics. I have very much appreciated Alexandra’s burning engagement in the education of horses and their well-being. She is a very clever girl who manages to educate each horse in their best spirit and develop them further than anyone would have predicted. Alexandra manages to get the best out of any horse, and sees the horse as a whole without forgetting the importance of mental training. I highly admire her for her huge capability, strong beliefs and will to always learn more and keep on educating herself. She never thinks a lot of herself, but she is without doubt a lot more than she thinks."

Min opplevelse med hest i trening hos Alexandra
"I september 2008 kjørte jeg painten min, Lucky (3) til Alexandra i Asker.
Planen var å få ridd han inn, og mitt mål var å få ridd en skrittetur i alle fall før året var omme.
Heldigvis bor jeg ikke langt unna treningsstedet, så jeg fikk være med mye under prosessen: Det var ikke bare Lucky som lærte ! Det var utrolig spennende og lærerikt å delta. Anbefales !
Treningen begynte på bakken. Langsomt og grundig.
Alexandra er rolig og tålmodig – gir hesten tid til å tenke ut hva det er hun ber han gjøre.
Da vi kom i salen var fremgangen den samme: langsomt – grundig – tid til å tenke.
Noe jeg la veldig godt merke til på denne tiden, var Alexandras evne til å alltid vite når neste steg skal tas – når tiden er inne. Full kontroll.
Alt gikk knirkefritt. Ingen unoter.
Jeg kunne både se og føle på meg at Lucky trivdes under treningen. Han stilte seg alltid opp når vi sto på stolen. Ørene frem, tygging og slikking.
Jeg tok også noen ridetimer på hestene til Alexandra under oppholdet, så jeg vil gjerne skrive noen ord om henne som ridelærer også.
Hun er veldig pedagogisk – flink til å gi gode tilbakemeldinger, og å rette på feil på en oppmuntrende måte. Hun er også lett å forstå, da hun forklarer godt.
Passe streng og pusher akkurat nok.
Under oppholdet til Lucky ble han stelt, fôret og møkket for. Full service. Masse utegang sammen med andre hester.
Jeg fikk hjem Lucky etter litt over tre måneder.
Planen hadde gått veldig bra – over all forventning.
Målet viste seg å være alt for lavt !
Vi har nå ridd på tur i alle gangarter.
Han går også sjenkelvikninger begge veier og traver og galopperer på volte.
Stiller seg opp ved krakken og er supergod i one-rein-stop.
Jeg har fått hjem en hest som er mye tryggere.
Han er mer selvstendig og har fått en mer voksen oppførsel.
Med dette skjønner dere nok at jeg anbefaler Alexandra på det sterkeste.
Jeg kommer til å fortsette å gå på treninger med henne, og benytte meg av hennes fantastiske evner til å forstå og kunne hest."

Assistant trainer and beginning rider instructor with three years of experience studying with
baroque academic equitation trainers throughout Northern Europe. Seeking assistant trainer or apprentice position in Western Europe to continue to learn about classical and baroque equitation.
• Three years of experience with training horses under expert supervision in short reins, long reins and under saddle in exercises including piaffe, passage, canter pirouettes, flying changes and levade.
• Three years experience as a self-employed riding instructor of beginning students; in past two years have instructed fulltime with weekend clinics almost every weekend and week clinics during the summer.

Career Objectives
In summary, I want to gain the experience and the knowledge to educate horses and riders from the basic level through high school. I wish to give the horse and rider an education based on their individuality, strengths and weaknesses. Specifically:
As a student:
It has been my honor to learn from equitation instructors with highly respected backgrounds. In order to continue my education, it is my goal to study with ever more challenging instructors of classical and baroque equitation, and have the opportunity to experience welleducated horses.
As a rider:
I strive to become a rider with perfect balance and an independent seat and soft aids, to ride the horse with feel and technique all the way to the schools above the ground. When I am able to accomplish that, I would like to develop my side-saddle riding.
As a trainer:
With the tools of working the horse in short reins, in long reins and from the saddle in all the different exercises, my vision is to train each horse so that he is mentally and physically able to work with through all advanced exercises in a way that it will make the best progress. I want the horse to enjoy the work as much as I do.
As an instructor:
A pedagogic and professional approach towards students is very important. I wish to be a riding instructor and horse trainer who inspires my students and clients by my attention to that individuality of the horse and the human.
